Colors

By M.B. Meme

The doors and windows
of my
house,
all shut;
mornings,
days
and nights.

Your
looks, manners and gestures,
your
color and smell
how they are;
I know nothing.

I just know
you will come.

Though dark,
it’s my home.
I love it
and I’ll live on in it;
your hands
those long, long hands
don’t thrust them in the dark
and grope for none in the house.

Waving, flying
colors,
you will return
leaving
wide open
all the doors and windows
of my house.

To you,
beyond all good and evil,
every battle
is your victory—
it’s all victory’s ovation.

If once
you goddess of death
open
the doors and windows
of my
house,
none will close them ever again.
