Handlooming Heart

by Ayushi Rawat

Read what the poet says about this poem.

The tapestry of memories
that you weave on my heart,
Your joy-riding needle went in and out
of my lonely heart,
Painted
blue, red, yellow,
chain stitching the threads of your touch.

Sewing together pages that were
never meant to be opened again,
Leaving some stitches lose,
so as to let me get a peek at the past,
once in a while…

The colours are still fresh,
The embroidery threads of your body
on mine,
are still soft…

Your love is colourful
and it weaves an endless tapestry
on my heart…

And I go blue, red and yellow,
over and over again.
